Orthodontic clinic in Shailer Park

At 60 Bryants Road, Shailer Park, Doyen secured approval to convert an existing commercial building into an orthodontic clinic. The proposal accommodated six surgery rooms, two consultation rooms and supporting patient and staff facilities within the existing 348-square-metre building.

The planning work focused on making the property function effectively for its new use. With frontages to both Bryants Road and Maranda Street, the assessment needed to establish how patients, staff and service vehicles would access the site.

Doyen’s response to Council clarified a practical separation of parking: patients would continue to use the existing Bryants Road car park, while the new car park accessed from Maranda Street would be reserved for staff. We documented the staff pedestrian route between the rear car park and the clinic, addressing Council’s questions about access and wayfinding.

We also coordinated landscape and civil engineering input for the new parking area. The landscape response addressed shade and the appearance of the Maranda Street frontage. The engineering response demonstrated how the additional hardstand could connect to the existing drainage system without creating adverse downstream impacts.

With residential uses nearby, the clinic’s operating hours were another important consideration. The application confirmed weekday operation from 8 am to 5 pm, which was reflected in the approval.

Logan City Council approved the healthcare use in April 2026. The result was approval for an expanded clinical offering within an existing building, supported by parking and access arrangements tailored to how the practice would operate.
